ORLANDO 417 TOLL PLAZA RENOVATION

Here we feature our renovation of the 417 Expressway toll plaza at the University Exit in Orlando.

This is the beginning where we are cutting two toll plaza overhangs back 12’ and patching back, running new conduits for the EPASS, and removing one toll booth and associated concrete bollards.

Here we are beginning the initial demolition of the toll plaza canopy. Notice the wrapped toll booth since that will not be there long.

The next image shows the demolition continues of the metal decking with the steel truss to be removed next. The picture after then shows the demolition of the last piece of Structural Steel. Notice at the top of the second photo the demolishing of the solid concrete bollard that protects the toll booth.

Next is something you normally do not see. We had to carefully unbolt and remove the toll plaza booth with a crane, then load it onto a trailer, and deliver to the storage yard of the Expressway Authority. And that completes the demolition phase of the 417 Toll Plaza Canopy.

We had to have perfect conduit runs for all the communication wires for the EPASS system.

Then we began working on the metal framing of the new canopy overhang with 2 crews. Following is the finishing the last parts of the metal framing at the canopy. After we began the installation of the wood blocking over the completed metal framing at the new canopy.

Then we worked on the densglass installation on the canopy to prepare for the stucco lath coming on next. Next we show the stucco lath installed over the densglass at the canopy. And then we worked on the finished stucco of the canopy ready for the final painting.

And now we have the finished product for you to see whenever in the vicinity of the 417 Expressway toll plaza at the University Exit.
